The Healthy Ageing Program (HAP) is a pioneering initiative by RADA aimed at promoting the well-being and quality of life for older adults in Cameroon. As life expectancy increases, ensuring that individuals age healthily becomes a critical focus for communities. HAP is designed to support seniors in leading active, healthy, and fulfilling lives through a combination of healthcare, social engagement, and preventive measures.
HAP emphasizes the importance of regular health check-ups, balanced nutrition, and physical activity for older adults to prevent and manage age-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes, and arthritis. Through health education workshops, fitness classes, and nutrition counseling, the program provides older adults with the tools to maintain their physical and mental well-being.
In addition to health-focused interventions, HAP addresses the social aspects of ageing by promoting social inclusion and reducing isolation. The program organizes community-based activities that encourage seniors to stay engaged and connected, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose.
HAP also collaborates with healthcare providers, caregivers, and local organizations to offer personalized care and support for older adults, ensuring they have access to the resources they need to age with dignity and independence. The program advocates for policies that prioritize the health and rights of the elderly, contributing to a more age-friendly society.
Through the Healthy Ageing Program, RADA is committed to creating an environment where older adults can thrive physically, socially, and emotionally, ensuring they enjoy a vibrant and healthy life as they age.
Join us in supporting healthy ageing and building a stronger, age-friendly community!
