The Healthy Eating Cameroon Program (HECP) is one of RADA’s flagship health initiatives aimed at promoting nutrition and healthy lifestyles across communities in Cameroon. Recognizing the critical role that diet plays in preventing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity, HECP focuses on raising awareness about the importance of balanced diets and nutritious food choices.

Through community outreach programs, workshops, and school-based initiatives, HECP educates families, schools, and individuals on the benefits of healthy eating habits. The program emphasizes the consumption of locally sourced, nutrient-rich foods, while also providing practical tips for meal planning and food preparation. In collaboration with local health professionals, HECP offers personalized nutrition counseling and cooking demonstrations, helping people incorporate healthier foods into their everyday lives.

A key component of the program is addressing the nutritional needs of vulnerable populations, including children, pregnant women, and those living with chronic conditions. The National Youth NCD Action Network (NY-NAN) is a youth-led initiative by RADA dedicated to combating the rising threat of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Cameroon. Recognizing that young people play a critical role in shaping the future of public health, NY-NAN empowers youth to become advocates for healthy living and proactive participants in the fight against NCDs such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer.

NY-NAN engages youth through awareness campaigns, school-based programs, and community outreach, focusing on preventive measures such as healthy eating, regular physical activity, and avoidance of harmful habits like smoking and excessive alcohol consumption. The program trains young leaders in advocacy and equips them with the knowledge to lead NCD prevention efforts in their communities.

In partnership with healthcare professionals and organizations, NY-NAN conducts health screenings, workshops, and educational forums to promote NCD awareness among young people. Additionally, the network facilitates youth-led discussions on public health policies, encouraging them to advocate for better healthcare infrastructure and policies aimed at NCD prevention and control.

NY-NAN also collaborates with local and international organizations to amplify the voices of young people in the fight against NCDs, ensuring they have a platform to influence positive change in both national and global health discussions.

HAP is designed to support seniors in leading active, healthy, and fulfilling lives through a combination of healthcare, social engagement, and preventive measures.

HAP emphasizes the importance of regular health check-ups, balanced nutrition, and physical activity for older adults to prevent and manage age-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes, and arthritis.
